Reed Education is dedicated to providing Whole School Recruitment to Secondary Schools across Cumbria & Lancashire. We are currently seeking a dynamic Maths Teacher to join a school in Lancaster on a long-term basis, starting immediately. This role is ideal for someone with a strong knowledge of the curriculum, effective communication skills, and a dedication to creating an engaging learning environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Deliver engaging and informative Maths lessons to students at KS3 and KS4 levels; experience with KS5 is advantageous but not essential.
- Utilise strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills to foster a positive learning environment.
- Assess, monitor, and record the progress of students, adapting teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
- Collaborate with other teaching staff to plan and coordinate lessons.
- Participate in school meetings and events, and engage in continuous professional development activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Recent and relevant experience teaching Maths at KS3 and KS4 levels; KS5 experience is beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to be an excellent classroom practitioner.
- Reliable, committed, and capable of demonstrating qualities of compassion, trustworthiness, politeness, and good listening skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to be patient and confident when working with children.
