Haggerty Jaques are pleased to be working with a well-established, globally connected professional services business with a strong presence in Leeds. They are looking to strengthen their internal risk and contracts function with the addition of a Contract Reviewer.
This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative, supportive team where you’ll play a key role in helping the wider business navigate contractual risk and get deals over the line efficiently.
The Role
Sitting within a central risk function, you’ll support operational teams across the business, helping them review, understand and negotiate contractual terms with both clients and suppliers.
Day to day, this will involve:
- Reviewing and advising on a broad range of commercial contracts
- Supporting teams to move through internal risk processes smoothly and efficiently
- Liaising with insurers and brokers around professional indemnity and related queries
- Working alongside internal stakeholders and, where needed, external legal teams
- Providing practical, solutions-focused advice on contractual issues
- Contributing to the ongoing improvement of systems, processes and risk awareness across the business
What They’re Looking For
This role would particularly suit a paralegal with previous commercial contracts experience who is looking to build on their foundations in a more business-facing environment.
Key requirements include:
- A law degree (or equivalent), with a minimum 2:1 classification
- At least 12 months experience reviewing and/or drafting commercial contracts
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Confidence working with a range of stakeholders across a business
- A proactive, adaptable approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Solid IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.)
- Salary sitting at the top end of the paralegal market in Leeds, alongside a strong benefits package
- Exposure to global, high-quality commercial work, offering genuinely valuable legal experience
