Support Worker (Part-Time) – Newquay (Hybrid)

We are recruiting for a Support Worker to provide caring and professional support to a male in his 40’s, who lives in his own home. You will provide mindful support and assistance to a gentleman with complex needs and limited mobility.

Our client acquired a brain injury and has substance misuse issues. He lives independently and does not require personal care however, he has a poor memory, and you will help support him to plan his day, make decisions as well as organise and keep appointments.

You’ll support and motivate him to access the community and participate in a wide variety of activities including playing pool, going fishing, go-karting and playing golf. He also enjoys going out for a drive, to the beach, getting a takeaway and going out for a coffee, so you will be out and about as part of your role.

The client’s family are very important to him and visit regularly. It is important to the client that his family remain involved as parents and siblings. He will regularly ring his family and they have a good understanding of his needs however as his support hours increase, they would like to reduce their input as “carers” and return to more traditional family roles.

If you have a great sense of humour, a penchant for trying out new activities and enjoy helping others, our client wants to hear from you!
You’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference to someone’s daily life, supporting them to maintain their independence and participate in activities that bring them happiness as well as support them in a rehabilitation programme.

What’s more, the hours on offer are perfect for working around other commitments and provide a great work/life balance.
