Cover Supervisor

At The Academy, Selsey we have a clear focus on raising standards of academic performance for 11 to 16 year olds. Since opening in September 2011 we have made good progress towards our ultimate goal of becoming an outstanding school. 1. 75 hours per week 8.15am to 3.30pm Grade 5, £25,584 pro rata to £19,983 (pay award pending) Term time only plus INSET days

About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

• Supervise classes during teacher absences, delivering work set by teaching staff
• Maintain a focused and positive classroom environment, ensuring learning continues
• Record attendance and report back on student conduct and lesson outcomes
• Support departmental admin, tutor time, break duties, exam invigilation, and wider school life Contribute to the organisation and delivery of displays, trips, and extracurricular events

When not supervising lessons, you'll play a key role in supporting learning across the school and will be an important member of our cover team.

What We’re Looking For

• Have experience working with children or young people (education, youth work, etc.)
• Are confident managing a classroom and maintaining a calm and purposeful learning environmment
• Communicate effectively and empathetically with students
• Are IT literate and can support classroom systems
• Are enthusiastic, organised and committed to safeguarding and student wellbeing

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
