About us
The Technical Services department supports the Science Museum in delivering an ambitious programme of activities ensuring a high-quality visitor experience. The team maintain digital and mechanical interactive experiences as well as mount making and operating a historic steam engine.
To support this work, we are now recruiting into a new role at the Science Museum - Lead Systems Engineer - on a full-time permanent basis.
About the role
As Lead Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the Science Museum's visitor-facing digital experiences. From immersive displays to interactive audio and control systems, you will oversee the design and implementation of cutting-edge technologies in our public spaces.Working closely with project teams, you will ensure that every solution is not only innovative and engaging but also robust, future-proof, and resilient, creating seamless, high-quality experiences for millions of visitors.
About you
You'll bring a collaborative, proactive and forward-thinking approach. You will use your good communication skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders, building and maintaining strong working relationships. You'll be a creative problem-solver who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on expertise - specifically in designing, commissioning, and delivering AV and IT systems.You will also bring expertise in networking, including AV distribution over IP (e.g. NDI, Dante). Strong project management abilities with experience managing teams, contractors, and equipment is also key.
