About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a creative and committed Design and Technology Teacher to join a high-achieving secondary school in Luton. Known for its positive learning environment and commitment to excellence, the school is seeking an educator who can inspire students and support the further growth of the D&T department.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching: Deliver engaging Design and Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience.
- Lesson Planning: Develop well-structured lessons that encourage creativity, problem-solving, and practical skills.
- Assessment & Progress Tracking: Monitor and report on student progress in line with school policies to help ensure high standards of achievement.
- Curriculum Development: Collaborate within the department to support curriculum development and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
- Student Support: Create a positive and supportive classroom environment that fosters growth and confidence in students’ abilities.
About You
We are looking for a qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with a degree in Design and Technology or a related subject. Experience teaching D&T at KS3 and KS4 is essential, and experience or willingness to teach KS5 is advantageous. You should bring a passion for your subject and a desire to make a meaningful impact on student learning.
Requirements- Qualifications: QTS or equivalent, plus a degree in Design and Technology (or related discipline)
- Experience: Proven experience teaching Design and Technology at KS3 and KS4 levels
- Skills: Strong classroom management, organisational skills, and the ability to engage and motivate students
