Art Technician
The role
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Art Technician to provide key support within Emanuel School's Art Department.
Our vibrant Art Department delivers teaching across a range of artistic techniques including printmaking (acid etch, screen printing, relief printing), ceramics, painting, photography and sculpture. As an Art Technician, you will be instrumental in the delivery of teaching, by assisting with all aspects of preparation and in-lesson support and managing the Art Department's specialist art materials and equipment. This will include:
- Assisting with the production of printmaking, sculpture/3D and ceramics work
- Organising and maintaining all material and equipment stores, including stock taking and ordering art materials
- Preparing and supplying apparatus and materials for class use
- Maintaining clean and tidy teaching studios, dark room, storage and resource areas
About you
You will hold a degree-level qualification in a visual art or printmaking-based subject (or equivalent relevant experience), as well as demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of art education. In addition to this, you will possess previous experience of supporting art workshops/teaching in an academic environment.Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills are also essential.
