About The Role:

Days of Working: Monday to Friday, with flexibility over weekend work.

As a Retail Crime Coordinator, your primary duties involve supporting the Security Manager in maintaining a safe and secure environment within the retail setting. This includes implementing and overseeing operational strategies to prevent and manage incidents of crime.
You'll be responsible for coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to identify risks, investigate incidents, and develop proactive measures to mitigate potential threats. Additionally, you'll play a key role in training staff on security protocols and procedures, as well as liaising with law enforcement and legal authorities when necessary.

Building strong relationships with the Retailors and passing on pertinent information is essential to this role.

This role will encompass a variety of tasks including, but not limited to the following:

  • Daily management of retail crime-related incidents
  • This role includes duty management responsibilities for a busy regional shopping centre.
  • Create a monthly security briefing report.
  • Liaise with retailers to share ideas on loss mitigation.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce retail crime incidents, including theft, fraud, and vandalism, within the retail environment.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and legal counsel to investigate and prosecute individuals or groups involved in organised retail crime activities.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of security measures, such as CCTV systems, access controls, and alarm systems, to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
  • Train and educate retail staff on recognising and responding to suspicious behaviour, theft prevention techniques, and emergency procedures.
  • Monitor and analyse data related to retail crime incidents, trends, and patterns to identify areas of concern and develop targeted prevention strategies.
  • Prepare and present reports on retail crime trends, prevention efforts, and outcomes to senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Act as a liaison between the organisation and external entities, such as retail associations, community groups, and government agencies, to collaborate on retail crime prevention initiatives and advocacy efforts.

You should meet the following criteria:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Excellent motivational and people management skills
  • Experienced at managing, influencing, and operating within a contract environment.
  • Have a track record and ability to effectively manage a site and deliver against business targets.
  • Financially aware with strong commercial focus applied within a large organisation.
  • Good presentation skills with previous experience of presenting to client management teams and operation contract staff.
  • Must hold a valid SIA Public Space Surveillance Licence and a SIA Guarding, CP, or Door Supervisors licence.
  • IOSH managing safely.
  • Level 5 qualification in a security/management-related subject (UK Regulated Qualifications Framework), ASIS CPP, PSP or ISMI CSMP (other credible industry-recognised qualifications will be considered). This is desirable, not essential.
