We are currently seeking a Planning Engineer to join our team. This is a full-time position based at our Wolverhampton site initially.
The planning engineer will be responsible for processing orders. Raise production paperwork whilst routing, paying particular attention to quality and lead times.
Responsibilities:
- To keep abreast of internal capability and capacity to enable customer delivery expectations to be consistently achieved. Liaise with shop floor team leaders when highly complex parts are required.
- To maximise profitability when creating job cards after reviewing sales estimate by improving planned routing and raw material selection wherever possible, while minimising waste of materials, transportation and labour.
- To always maintain a professional but friendly working relationship with all suppliers and colleagues within the group.
- To liaise with all other departments in order to expedite the intended workflow and help resolve quality and logistical issues
Qualifications:
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent with a C grade pass in Maths and English.
- NVQ or Equivalent in Mechanical Engineering advantageous but not essential
Essential Experience:
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Engineering experience within the manufacturing industry
Desirable Experience:
- Knowledge of international material standards (ASTM / ISO / BS)
- Knowledge of international dimensional standards (ISO / DIN / BS)
- Knowledge of a bespoke system would be preferred (Epicor), but not essential.
- Fastener knowledge including the manufacturing processes involved, including but not limited to CNC machining, Hot Forging, Heat Treatment, Mechanical Testing, NDT testing and/or Plating Finishes.
