We are looking for a Senior Analyst to lead the Academy's Analysis Function to provide compelling insights and evidence to support the Academy's policy work.

The role

As the Academy's Senior Analyst, you'll have excellent analytical and communication skills and a track record of delivering results, which you'll use to deliver a diverse and innovative portfolio of analytical projects, both qualitative and quantitative.

Based in the Policy and International Directorate, you'll work most closely with the policy teams - research and innovation policy, engineering policy and education and skills policy. At the Academy, we do policy differently; we explore exciting and engaging ways to share our evidence, insights and advice and create new opportunities to connect policymakers with the best engineering thinking and expertise.

From how to achieve net zero, to addressing the engineering skills gap, you'll play a key role in finding creative ways for analytical activities to strengthen the insights, evidence and impact of our policy projects.

As you'll be leading the Academy's Analysis Function, we'll look to you to raise the profile of analysis within the organisation. You'll be the internal expert on analysis and will get to apply your skills across all our activities, from measuring the impact of our work, to improving diversity and inclusion in the engineering profession.

You'll collaborate with colleagues to scope, design, deliver and commission relevant research.

To succeed in this role, you'll have good knowledge in a range of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and be confident in applying them in different contexts across unfamiliar topics. You'll be a skilled communicator, able to summarise complex information in an accessible, engaging way to a range of audiences.

You must be able to link the analytical work with the bigger picture, and you'll need to be great at collaborating.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to shape and develop the Academy's analytical activities and we'll provide you with excellent support to help make that happen.
