Team Leader - Picking and Despatch

Requirements

Picking Plan Execution:

• Take ownership of the daily and weekly picking plan, ensuring the team is adequately resourced and skilled to meet demand.
• Oversee the picking process, ensuring that orders are picked, labelled, and marshalled accurately and efficiently.

Load Assembly Management:

• Aggregate pick plans from the Picking Team Leaders (Doors and Floors) and ensure all loads are assembled accurately and on time.
• Oversee the marshalling and loading of goods onto vehicles, ensuring all documentation is correct and compliant with dispatch plans.

Team Leadership:

• Lead, coach, and develop the Picking team, ensuring high levels of productivity and accuracy.
• Monitor team performance, providing feedback and training as necessary to meet operational targets.

Health & Safety Compliance:

• Ensure all picking activities are carried out safely, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Conduct regular safety checks and ensure that all team members are trained in safe working practices.

Process Improvement:

• Continuously seek opportunities to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the picking process.
• Collaborate with other Team Leaders and the Operations Manager to ensure seamless operations across the warehouse.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

• Picking Accuracy: Percentage of orders picked accurately and on time.
• Order Fulfilment: Percentage of orders fulfilled on time in full (OTIF).
• Labelling Accuracy: Accuracy of labelling and marshalling of picked items.
• Load Assembly Accuracy: Accuracy and completeness of loads assembled for dispatch.
• On-Time Dispatch: Percentage of loads dispatched on time according to the plan.
• Vehicle Loading Efficiency: Time taken to load vehicles and accuracy of documentation.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Number of incidents and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience in warehouse picking and loading operations, with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) is an advantage.
