Neurodevelopmental Patient Assurance Team Commissioning Manager - Band 7

We are seeking an innovative, passionate, resilient person with a commitment to collaborative working across health and social care, to join our Building the Right Support (BRS)/ Neurodevelopmental Services teams.

You will be part of a friendly team with opportunities to gain a wide range of experience.

As Commissioning Manager, across learning disabilities, autism and mental health, you will be vital in taking the lead on developing the Care (Education) and Treatment (C(E)TRs) and Joined Up Care Derbyshire Dynamic Support Register (JUCD DSR) across Derby and Derbyshire.

This is a permanent, full-time role of 37.5 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

You will need to have a good knowledge of the issues and challenges people face and the ability to work collaboratively to improve the capacity and quality of local support.

We are looking for a good communicator with thorough knowledge of learning disability, autism and mental health is required as is the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of partners, in line with NHSE/I National Policy and Guidance.

Health and social care partners locally are working collaboratively together to ensure that people with a learning disability and/or Autism receive the right support at the right time and in the right place.

Locally partners have seen increased levels of demand and are actively looking at how we can support and develop services flexibly and nearer to home for the individuals we are working with and for. Further strengthening of our approach to C(E)TRs and our DSR are integral to this.

Person specification

Education

Essential criteria
  • Clinical or social care registration or relevant experience working with LD/ASD and MH
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Commissioning Qualification or relevant experience of working in a commissioning role.
Desirable criteria
  • Educated to degree level in management studies, equivalent level qualification or equivalent knowledge and experience

Experience & Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience in Learning Disabilities, ASD and Mental Health and recent working knowledge of national policy
  • Significant experience of successfully operating in a politically sensitive environment
  • Experience of monitoring budgets and business planning processes
  • Experience of drafting briefing papers and correspondence
  • Experience of managing risks and reporting
  • Demonstrated experience in a health and/or social care environment
  • Experience of line managing a team
Desirable criteria
  • Comprehensive knowledge of project principles, techniques and tools.

  • Ability to prepare and produce concise yet insightful communications for dissemination to senior stakeholders and a broad range of stakeholders as required
  • Ability to create and give presentations to a varied group of internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated capability to act upon incomplete information, using experience to make inferences and decision making
  • Numerate and able to understand complex financial issues combined with deep analytical skills
  • Demonstrated capabilities to manage own workload and make informed decision in the absence of required information, working to tight and often changing timescales
