Principal Civil or Highway Engineer role:
- An exciting Principal Civil or Highway Engineer role within an industry-leading team, with opportunities to develop your career alongside industry leaders in a diverse range of infrastructure projects.
Principal Civil or Highway Engineer responsibilities:
- Lead 3D modelling using Civil 3D software.
- Production of drawings from the 3D model.
- Lead the production of detailed drawings and specifications, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Review design calculations and basis of relevant design assumptions.
- Technical resource for the team and accurate reporting.
- Ensure high-quality design output while working efficiently and overseeing the quality of junior colleagues' technical work.
- Review and provide feedback on design proposals from consultants and contractors.
- Ensure team adherence to BIM protocols and office drawing standards. Actively participate in project and technical meetings with colleagues.
- Support the Director in preparing tender/bid documents, including scope of service and fee proposals.
- Attend project and client meetings, as well as site inspections.
Principal Civil or Highway Engineer requirements:
- Ideal candidates should have a Civil Engineering degree (or equivalent Level 6 qualification) and ideally be Chartered or Incorporated with a relevant professional body.
- Proficient in Civil 3D modelling, sectioning, and quantity take-off.
- Preferred experience in Aviation and/or Highways sectors, with knowledge of industry design guides.
- Experienced in using relevant design software.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards.
- Possess experience within modelling.
- Demonstrate commercial awareness, project management, and line management skills.
