Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to Duty Manager, within EOC. Based at the Nottingham Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), this role will provide a crucial function within the Regional EOC team primarily focused on the performance delivery of the EOC’s.

Main duties of the job

As a Duty Manager (EOC), you will be responsible for the delivery of a high quality service, which meets both national and local Key Performance Indicators. This will be achieved through the effective and efficient management of EOC resources and the management and leadership of all staff and resources within the EOC.

You will work in partnership with other Departmental and Operational Managers to ensure best practice and business continuity is provided across the whole Trust.

Due to the 24/7 nature of this high profile environment it will be necessary to undertake some unsocial hours working, covering both day and night shifts over a rotation cycle.

Working for our organisation

Overseen by the EOC Senior Manager, successful candidates will work as part of a detailed team of EOC Duty Managers providing line management and support to all Dispatchers.

You will oversee all Dispatch functions with the Emergency Operations Centre and will be supported by the on duty Commander on a 24/7 basis

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Accountable to the Service Delivery Management Team you will be responsible for the delivery of the service by providing expert knowledge, skill and leadership in the specialty area of EOC. Specifically the core responsibilities are:

  • Deliver and exceed Department of Health and locally agreed targets, including the core elements of Standards for Better Health.
  • To ensure the effective utilisation of people, vehicles and financial resources throughout the EOC.
  • To determine the education, training and development needs of the EOC.
  • Support the EOC Senior Management team in achieving and excelling in the provision of patient care and ensuring patients receive the best clinical routes and outcomes.
