We are looking for a someone to join our specialist paediatric pharmacy team. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your clinical skills and gain valuable experience in paediatric pharmacy.

You will deliver specialist clinical pharmacy services within the Medical & Surgical Care Groups, including critical care and oncology. You will also participate in clinical pharmacy, aseptic services and inpatient pharmacy services. You will also contribute to weekend, bank holiday, and out-of-hours emergency duties.

You will have completed Year 1 of your postgraduate clinical diploma or have completed the CPPE Primary Care pharmacy education pathway, and you'll have experience in hospital pharmacy. Paediatric experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Main duties of the job

Reporting into the Lead Pharmacist for Medicine, your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide specialist clinical pharmacy services to paediatric medical and surgical patients, under the lead pharmacist’s direction.
  • Verify prescriptions and advise on appropriate therapy, and provide medicines information to patients and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Work as a non-medical prescriber if qualified and attend multidisciplinary ward rounds.
  • Contribute to service development, including guideline, protocol, and standard operating procedures implementation.
  • Participate in audit, research, and clinical trials.

Please note that Sheffield Children's uplift pay to meet the Real Living Wage, which is £12.60 per hour.

  • GPhC
  • Post graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or completed first year of clinical diploma or competed CPPE pharmacy primary care education pathyway
Desirable criteria
  • Member of RPS
  • Member of NPPG
  • Independent pharmacist prescriber

Experience
