Warehouse Team Leader

Right Now Group is recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Team Leader to support the day-to-day management of a busy cargo warehouse operation. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant receipt, storage, handling, and dispatch of air cargo while leading and developing a high-performing warehouse team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining operational excellence, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with aviation security, health and safety, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities of Warehouse Team Leader:

• Lead and support the daily operation of the cargo warehouse, ensuring all activities are carried out safely and efficiently.
• Conduct daily safety audits and complete investigations into incidents, near misses, and safety concerns as required.
• Analyse operational data and develop plans to improve warehouse accuracy, productivity, and overall performance.
• Maintain warehouse administration processes, stock accuracy, inventory controls, and order fulfilment activities.
• Supervise, coach, and motivate warehouse staff, promoting a positive and productive team culture.
• Monitor individual and team performance against operational KPIs and company standards.
• Oversee cargo receiving, storage, handling, and dispatch activities, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and industry regulations.
• Ensure all staff receive appropriate training and that accurate training records are maintained.
• Carry out quality checks and audits to ensure operational standards are consistently met.
• Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Aviation Security procedures.
• Build effective working relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues across multiple sites and departments.
• Provide regular operational updates and performance feedback to management.
• Promote a proactive, customer-focused, and "can-do" approach throughout the team.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and ensure correct waste management and recycling procedures are followed.
• Take ownership of designated process areas and drive continuous improvement projects.
• Support management with additional operational duties as required to ensure the smooth running of the warehouse.

Hours: 07:00 to19:00

Key skills & Attributes Warehouse Team Leader:

• Previous experience within an Airfreight or Cargo Warehouse environment.
• Minimum of 1 year's experience in a Warehouse Team Leader, Supervisor, or similar leadership role.
• Strong understanding of aviation security regulations and cargo handling procedures.
• Excellent people management, coaching, and team-building skills.
• Experience monitoring operational KPIs and driving performance improvements.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with staff, customers, and stakeholders.
• Clear DBS check.
