Retail Assistant
We are seeking a personable, confident and customer focused Retail Assistant with a passion for retail to work in our small and friendly team in the School Shop.
The School Shop principally exists to provide the school communities and various external users with an appropriate range of branded and non-branded school uniform, sports and recreational clothing, sports goods, toiletries, stationery and text books.
The Retail Assistant is a part-time position working full year on Monday and Wednesday from 9.30am-4pm.
This is a varied role where you will be processing and assisting with day to day sales, customer enquiries and stock control, assisting with the Summer fitting season, maintaining proper sale records, helping in the display of goods and appearance of the shop and actively supporting shop routines and taking a ‘hands on’ approach to all tasks.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience of working in a busy customer facing environment
- Good time management and prioritising skills
- The ability to work on their own initiative whilst also being a strong team player
- Strong organisation skills
- A passion for providing excellent customer service
- Confidence in dealing with a wide range of customers
- A flexible attitude and adaptable to change
- A friendly and polite manner
Experience of Epos systems and web stores is not essential but would be an advantage.
