Here at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust we are proud of the first class care we provide our patients and to further support this we are expanding our teams of Healthcare Support Workers / Healthcare Assistants across all departments within the Hospital.
You will be trained to complete your Care Certificate which gives you all the skills you need to be a success (aside from your brilliant personality and helpful nature!). But it doesn’t stop there – if you want to progress in your career we can even offer you the opportunity to specialise with specialist skills or take our fantastic apprenticeship to become a nurse.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE Maths & English, or Equivalent
  • NVQ 2 in Health Care, or Equivalent
  • Clinical skills e.g. venepuncture, blood transfusion, aseptic non touch technique
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ 3 in Direct Care

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience in a care setting
  • Previous hospital experience
Desirable criteria
  • Experience within the speciality

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Computer literate
  • Competent in English Language – written and verbal
  • Adaptability to cope with changing workload
  • Able to work in a team environment
