To provide effective, professional and managerial leadership to staff in the absence of the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse and/or Senior Staff Nurse; to be the ward representative if the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse and/or Senior Staff Nurse are unavailable.
To ensure that all lines of communication are identified and used effectively; to maintain a high standard of nursing care within the framework of the Trust policies. This role will require a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with the ability to multitask, provide support to other members of the team and deliver excellent patient care.
As Milton Keynes University Hospital is a teaching hospital you are also expected to be a role model to our student nurses, nursing associates and medical students. You will be expected to Maintain a 100% compliance with mandatory training and to adhere to all hospital policies including the uniform policy.

Upon commencing employment with the Trust, all employees (except Medical & Dental Staff on national terms and conditions) are subject to a probationary period lasting a period of six months with an option to extend for a further six months to a total of 12 months.
