About the role

Our Housing Service are responsible for managing and maintaining 5000 properties including sheltered housing, temporary accommodation as well as general needs tenancies. This post is based within our Neighbourhood Management Team within Tenancy Services section.

About you

You will be responsible for several functions related to estate and tenancy management for secure and introductory tenants. This includes management of nuisance cases, tenancy breaches and successions and assignments. There is a strong emphasis on tenant and leasehold consultation and participation within the responsibilities of this post.

You will work with a wide range of stakeholders as well as voluntary sector agencies who provide support and advice to tenants and with Councillors on issues related to their ward.

You must be educated to degree level or will have 3 years previous experience of working in social housing in a front line service managing casework. Working knowledge of relevant legislation and legal procedures relating to tenancy management is essential for this role.

A BTEC or equivalent in a Housing related subject is desirable as is demonstrable experience and commitment to tenant involvement and empowerment.

You must be an excellent communicator, be IT literate and ideally be able to use a housing software system. You will be required to attend occasional evening meetings and evening working as needed from time to time. There is a requirement for you to also be available as part of the councils emergency planning arrangements subject to service requirements.
