Stoke Mandeville Hospital Emergency Department are looking for innovative, hardworking and dedicated staff to come and join our strong nursing team. We now have band 5 vacancies available and we are looking for dynamic nurses to help deliver an excellent service to our patients, and to maintain our outstanding care which was determined by our latest CQC report.
We have a good reputation for supporting our staff with Acute Nurse Practitioners (ANPs), Emergency Nurse Practitioners (ENPs), an Emergency Nurse Consultant and a dedicated Practice Development Nurse. Supernumerary time is given on commencing the post and a newly designed bespoke Masters level Emergency Care module validated by Oxford Brookes University is set to commence in 2020.
The Emergency Department sees around 85,000 patients annually. The department has recently been expanded to include a brand new, purpose built resuscitation area, a new Emergency Observation unit with modernised assessment and soon to be refurbished majors’ area.
We have a dedicated Paediatric Decisions Unit adjacent to the main Emergency Department which consists of a waiting area, assessment spaces and cubicles. We also have GP service and an Ambulatory Care Unit. We have level 2 trauma status.
The post holder is responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development and/or implementation and evaluation of programmes of care.- Is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care, maintaining a high standard without direct supervision within the framework of trust and departmental policies.
- Works within own sphere of competence and regulation.
- Is expected to supervise qualified and/or unqualified staff.
- Is able and expected to teach qualified and unqualified staff including pre-registered and post basic students
