Sister/Charge Nurse | Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust
We are currently looking for keen and motivated Nurse to recruit into a Band 6 post. You must be an RN with a minimum 2 years post registration experience within an emergency department. You will also hold a qualification in Mentoring/ Slip.
You will be required to have effective leadership skills, good communication skills, good interpersonal skills and evidence of professional development is a must. The successful candidate will be required to shift lead and maintain the flow of the department in a safe and efficient manner.You will be expected to work across site.
You will joining the emergency departments covering two sites, that currently see on average 500 patients a day (cross site). This is an extremely busy, but exciting time to join the trust as we are currently working towards the new configuration.Both departments consist of Triage/Rapid Assessment, Resuscitation Room, Majors and Minor Injuries/Illness.

We have a dedicated Nurse Educator, as professional development for nursing staff is a priority. During your employment you will have opportunities for different courses and study days, including Immediate Life Support, Recognition of Deteriorating Patient, Advanced Life Support., Trauma Training, Pediatrics training, Major incident and CBRNe training.

The key areas within this role will be to assist the department senior sister/matron in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of services and to provide clinical and managerial leadership for nursing and support staff.
There will be an expectation that you can deputise for department senior sister/matron in their absence, with this role you will also be expected to take a lead on clinical practice issues.
You will be required to work a 24/7 rotational shift pattern of days, nights and twilights.
