We are hiring for a Laboratory Technician who will be responsible for supporting the Shift Leader in driving ‘24/7 Compliance’, resolution of ongoing quality issues and investigations to achieve root cause.
This entry-level position offers ongoing training to support your development into a Quality Compliance Technician.
Main responsibilities:
- Adhere to legal and company safety standards.
- Report hazards and accidents promptly.
- Ensuring that all required testing is completed in the Lab, including routine and non-routine product testing.
- General Laboratory duties including cleaning, preparing reagents, cleaning glassware
- Supporting the instigation & execution of food safety & quality investigations
- Assuring accurate and complete records of work done, and all other appropriate laboratory information and results are maintained.
- Assist colleagues beyond your own role.
- Ensures all calibrations/ verifications are carried out according to the internal schedule
- Ensures equipment is well maintained and any concerns are resolved/ escalated in a timely manner.
- Investigate non-conformances and spoilage issues.
- Conduct environmental monitoring within the Laboratory and Production areas.
- Carries out and records site CCP checks.
- Supports the Shift QC Leader with driving Quality KPI's on shift
- Ensure CLAS compliance and cleanliness.
- Assist with internal audits and conduct testing.
- Analyse lab data for trends and improvements.
- Participate in root cause analysis and suggest improvements.
Key Requirements:
- A keen eye for detail and ability to work on own initiative.
- Good communication skill; written & oral.
- Ability to work both alone and as part of a team in a busy environment.
- The ability to work under pressure.
- Pro-active approach to continued professional development of self.
- Problem solving skills.
- Food industry experience is desirable.
- Previous laboratory experience is desirable.
- Scientific qualification/ background is essential.
