Technical Sales Support Specialist - TL
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will support the Sales organization and its customers in determining the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions. Each day, you will serve as a key technical resource in the assigned area. You will also showcase your expertise by preparing technical descriptions for the applied products and technology.
The work model for the role is: Hybrid, working 2 days a week in our Coventry site and 3 days working from home.
This role is contributing to the Breakers and Switchgear Product Groups of the Smart Power Division (ELSP). Main stakeholders are Customers, Product Management, Customer Service teams and external sales teams.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Offering technical advice and providing comment on enquiry specifications for customers/channels/Sales Engineers regarding ABB’s products/systems/applications specifically for LV Power Breakers (ACB’s, MCCB’s) and Switches & Fusegear (switch disconnectors, switch fuses, transfer switches, ATS).
- Helping to prepare the technical and financial aspects of offers, including pricing and trading conditions, and supporting the sales team by providing advice on technical solutions, products, systems and applications.
- Performing diagnostics and analysis to make improvement recommendations based on customers’ needs, contributing technical details and perspectives in at various stages, and delivering technical presentations, drawings and demonstrations of complex product issues by offering specialized training on products, solutions and services.
- Maintain a KPI of 95% calls answered on the Technical Support Hotline phone number, respond to e-mails sent to the Technical Support team within 2 working days and using the Salesforce customer database to identify sales leads to external engineers.
- Sound knowledge of Electrical Switchgear applications and BS7671 requirements for Building Services sector.
- Experience within Electrical Switchgear Wholesale Market or similar.
- HNC/ONC/Btec Level 3 Electrical engineering.
- An agile and proactive approach, with a demonstrated ability to take ownership of customer issues.
- Knowledge of principles and practices in customer service.
- A collaborative, solution-focused approach, and strong written and spoken communication skills.
- Proven use of Microsoft office package.
