Plumber/General Maintenance Technician - Glasgow

Salary: Grade 4 (£27,344 - £30,505) per annum, pro rata

Hours: 35 hours per week
Applications are invited for a Plumber/General Maintenance Technician, in the Estates department at GSA. The applications will open on the 11th of February 2025.
To carry out routine, planned and reactive maintenance works across the campus, as directed by the Maintenance Officer or Maintenance Manager. Working primarily as a sole operator, you will be supported by the Maintenance Officer and Maintenance Manager to provide a planned and reactive plumbing and general repair service across all GSA occupied property including halls of residence.
You will be expected to provide information and support during new systems installation and when necessary, liaise with and co-ordinate the work of small teams of external contractors on the School's water and drainage systems.
You will be expected to produce written reports and maintain records associated with legionella management and a working knowledge of basic I.T packages such as Microsoft applications would be advantageous.

The following experience and qualifications are necessary for the position:
A recognised plumbing apprenticeshipSVQ 3: SCQF Level
Legionella / L8 awarenessAn effective understanding of health and safety legislation within the construction industry is essential
Ability to organise safe methods of working is essential.
A broad knowledge of building construction is requiredAdditional skills and attributes required:
Able to respond flexibly to differing and competing demandsAbility to work under pressure
Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Team player
