The Generic GP PCME is responsible for delivery of quality assured education at Postgraduate School of General Practice level.

The education will be group-based and mapped against the curriculum and learners' needs.

The post holder will work with the Deanery course leads and other lead educators to deliver the relevant education.

The successful candidate will be primarily involved in delivery of courses and will need to be flexible to be available with sufficient notice.

The post holder must be on the GMC GP Register with at least one year’s experience in general practice post-CCT.
  • To work and function as a member of the lead educator team
  • To balance areas of activity and work with other members of the educator team to ensure a co-ordinated delivery of courses.
  • To facilitate the educational development of supervisors and their CPD.
  • To attend Programme and Deanery meetings when requested
  • Liaison with the educational supervisors across the deanery.
  • To liaise with Foundation Programme Directors and GP Tutors to ensure continuity in the ‘lifelong curriculum’

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.
  • To support the educator team to plan and deliver a balanced programme with a range of learning opportunities for supervisors and other learners.
  • To Develop and facilitate group learning opportunities to meet the needs of a balanced programme, local Academy or the PGSGP
