Teaching Assistant required for an outstanding special school located in Yeovil, Somerset. We cater to students with a range of complex learning difficulties, providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support students in their learning and development, ensuring a safe and positive environment.
- Assist teachers in delivering tailored lessons and activities that meet individual needs.
- Work closely with other professionals, including therapists and support staff, to implement strategies that promote student progress.
- Provide personal care and support where necessary.
- Encourage communication, independence, and confidence in students.
- Support students on a 1:1 basis where required.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome applicants with experience in SEN settings or those looking to begin a rewarding career in special education. Ideal candidates will have:
- A compassionate and patient approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting. Those with EYFS/Nursery experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
- A willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of our students.
- A playful and energetic personality
