Role: Technical Lead / Data EngineerContract Length: Anticipated 6 months
Location: London – hybrid 2-3 days per week
Pay Rate: Competitive Market Rate
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead to join the development team. As a technical lead you will have the ability to manage multiple, diverse, technology workstreams in an agile environment. You will provide technical leadership and architecture recommendations, whilst proactively looking for opportunities to establish patterns and best practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce Low Level Technical DesignsUndertake hands-on AWS engineering tasks
Day to day technical guidance for engineers and developers
Code reviews
Assist engineers and developers with breaking tasks into granular tickets for sprint planning.
As a Technical Lead you will have relevant experience in:
In-depth understanding of design patterns and software engineering best practicesExperience in different levels of architecture design e.g. software, application, data
Proven ability in providing technical leadership in an agile environment
Previous experience in full stack development. This may be in any language, although JavaScript (React) & python will be in everyday use by the team
Experience of key AWS platform technologies including Lambda, S3, EC2, Glue, Athena, CloudFront, AppStream
Knowledge of building data pipelines (ETL and/or analytical pipelines) and understanding of the design of ETL Pipeline development experience in AWSExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey technical concepts to team members and stakeholders
Desirable:
You will be familiar with CI/CDUnderstanding or experience with Terraform or similar IaC
Good understanding of Geospatial technologies especially QGIS and ArcGIS
Experience of testing concepts from unit testing through to TDD, BDD and writing manual and automated tests
Git as version control
