Howard Finley Care is searching for an experienced Clinical Nurse Trainer to bring fresh new skills and knowledge within a medium sized nursing home - experienced senior nurse with a teaching qualification, that is keen to pursue a new role with one of the leading care providers for care in Dementia and Elderly care within the Worthing area.

We are committed to the well-being and contentment of our residents. Quality of life is the cornerstone of all that we do, and great care is taken to ensure that every day we provide a relaxed and enjoyable environment for all of those under our care.

Job definition
  • To take responsibility of all internal clinical training matters, in liaison with HR and Chief Nurse, who will help identify any gaps or shortfall in practical or theoretical skills or experience.
  • To identify cause and effect of the training need and to secure a solution that can be applied across individuals or groups as appropriate.
  • To undertake training personally and to adapt it to an internal audience together with planned outcomes and benefits for service users.
  • To deliver training sessions, practical hands-on experiences and modules that colleagues can undertake remotely on-line or in face-to-face sessions on our premises.
  • To liaise with training providers, including universities where nursing and caring programmes are being delivered independently, to alert them to any identified gaps that might otherwise result in risk should their students commence work with real-live patients. This is important because student nurses applying for work experience from universities often have had little practical exposure to patients or their families, and the range of conditions or issues that come with the business. We wish to act as a catalyst to the sector, to help drive forward an improvement in how aspirant clinicians are trained and guided into the industry.
  • Spend time on the wards and in the accompanying clinical services, including the WBH and Therapies, to observe how our teams work together as well as individuals, to find improvements and training solutions.
  • To be responsible for ensuring the operational delivery of a high quality clinical multidisciplinary service by adding expert skills, information and guidance.
  • To be jointly accountable for the effective clinical management of residents, ensuring that the needs of the residents and service users are placed at the centre of care delivery.
  • To undertake assessments of clinical colleagues. To record progress against agreed training plans.
  • Ensure the workforce meets the clinical, physical, and psychological needs of residents and service users.
  • Work in close partnership with the Senior Nursing Team to translate CQC standards into effective work-based outcomes.
