[ref. i50185222] Research Scientist in Molecular Diagnostics for Colorectal Cancer Screening
Our Company
Origin Sciences is a medical technology company based in Granta Park (Cambridge) that develops innovative devices and IVD tests to aid in the detection and diagnosis of gastrointestinal diseases. Origin Sciences have developed a minimally invasive sample collection device to consistently and robustly collect rectal mucus specimens, which are leveraged for diagnostic assay development.
Our current focus is the development of diagnostic solutions for colorectal cancer (CRC) detection, triage and surveillance. Our motivation is to enable the NHS to focus more resources on those patients with serious pathologies by reducing waiting times, enabling earlier detection, and reducing unnecessary investigations performed on healthy patients. This diagnostic is analogous to blood-based liquid biopsy but has the advantage of sampling material closer to the pathology of interest.
