Part Time Health Care Support Worker

We are seeking a motivated Healthcare Support Worker for part-time work in a home-based setting in the Boston area.
We are specifically recruiting a part-time (50%) permanent employee at 18 hours per week on a fixed bi-weekly rota. Cover shifts (illness, annual leave, etc.) may additionally be available.
The home caters to the needs of one complex needs individual, living with physical, age-related, and neurological conditions that require dignified support from our caring team. Candidates for this role must therefore be patient, understanding, and respectful.

This role might include some long days, weekends, and Bank Holidays. We are happy to consider candidates working part-time elsewhere, studying, or who have other responsibilities.

This is a double-handed care setting, and interpersonal skills are therefore essential.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure medical needs are always met.
  • Assistance with bedtime routine, including changing.
  • Assistance with morning routine, including getting up, washing, and dressing.
  • Continence care, medication handling (including insulin), and PEG feeding assistance.
Who are we looking for?
  • Previous experience required, minimum NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • Compassionate, caring, confident, and resilient.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to integrate into a team well.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills needed for proper documentation and handover.
  • Keenness to learn and strong observational skills, given complex care needs.
What are we offering?
  • £13 per hour in shifts of 6 hours.
  • Permanent contracted hours at 18 hours a week on a fixed two-weekly basis.
  • Shift pattern is AM: 08:00-14:00, PM: 14:00-20:00.
  • Current rota for this position is as follows

-- Week 1 (beginning e.g. 4th November): Wednesday PM, Sunday AM & PM (double)

-- Week 2 (beginning e.g. 11th November): Tuesday PM, Thursday AM, Friday PM

  • Free endorsed further training via Care Skills Academy and Caring for Care (e.g., Level 3 Diabetes, Level 2 Moving and Handling).
  • Paid training and induction program.
  • Immediate interview and quick start Nov 4th onward (subject to pre-employment checks).
  • Contributory NEST Pension Scheme.
  • Enhanced DBS check.
