Senior Practice Nurse

Carry out routine tasks relating to patient care including: Cytology Wound care / ulcer care / doppler Removal of sutures Urinalysis ECGs Venepuncture Hypertension management Routine immunisations and vaccinations Deputising for Lead Nurse and supporting Lead Nurse in co-ordination of staff within the nursing team Providing health advice to patients regarding their health conditions, as well as advice about fitness or diet according to government guidelines Working alongside and communicating regularly with Practice GPs, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.
Participation in Practice meetings when required Keeping clear, up-to-date and accurate computer records Ordering of stock eg medical supplies Maintaining general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms On occasion there may be a requirement to undertake home visits
