DCHS has an exciting opportunity for a full time Band 5 Community Public Health Nurse to join the 5-19 service within the Erewash Locality.

You will have a passion for promoting public health and supporting children, young people and their families to adopt healthy lifestyles.
On completion of the first year in post there will be the opportunity to apply to complete the training for Specialist Community Public Health Nursing qualification (SCPHN) School Nursing Pathway; you will be supported in your development towards this.
We are able to offer a thorough, bespoke induction programme, supportive mentorship arrangements, regular clinical and safeguarding supervision as well as ensuring support with continuing professional development.

Our Public Health Nurses work with children and their families both in schools and in the home environment to improve health and social outcomes and make a real difference in a true multi-agency environment

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes.

You will be an integral member of the 5-19 team, supporting the Band 6 SCPHN’s alongside other Community Staff Nurses in the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme.
Your key role will be to support the delivery of bespoke public health sessions in schools addressing identified high impact areas, care planning for children with specific health needs and providing advice and support to parents regarding physical and emotional health needs of their child.
