Kitchen Assistant
We have a friendly and dedicated team, all of whom uphold our staff pledge to champion every child.
We wish to recruit a Kitchen Assistant to work 1hr 45mins per day, 11.30am – 1.15pm Monday to Friday during term time We would love to hear from someone with experience of catering and food hygiene but can provide safeguarding, basic food hygiene and allergy awareness training.Our meals are cooked offsite and delivered by the provider.
All about the role:
Main Job Purpose: To ensure the effective running of the school’s kitchen and dining room facilities, safely preparing and serving school dinners each day, setting up the dinner hall and closing down the kitchen.

is willing to help out with things like cutting up our food or opening tricky yoghurt pots or peeling bananas
Main Duties:
To check and prepare food delivered for serving at lunchtime.To temperature check food for Public Health purposes.
To ‘set up’ the dining room and clear tables and equipmentTo serve the meals.
To wash up and clean all equipment as necessary.
To carry out cleaning tasks within the kitchen and dining room environment.
To support the MDSAs in managing lunch time with the children.
To ensure that the kitchen is left clean, safe and secure at the end of the shift.
To be aware of, and work within, standards of Health and Safety (including hygiene).
