About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our supportive and dynamic primary school team in Harrow. The ideal candidate will have recent experience in a primary school setting, working with children to support their learning and development.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to provide targeted support to individual students and small groups. You will help ensure that all children, including those with additional learning needs, are able to access the curriculum and thrive in a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the teacher in delivering lessons and activities
- Provide one-to-one or small group support for students with additional learning needs
- Help students with their social and emotional development
- Assist in the preparation and organisation of learning materials and classroom resources
- Encourage and motivate students to reach their full potential
- Observe and track student progress, reporting any concerns to the teacher or SENCo
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students
- Recent experience working in a primary school, ideally as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role
- A strong understanding of child development and the ability to support children with diverse learning needs
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children
- An ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive and nurturing learning environment
- Relevant qualifications in education or support work (e.g. , Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification)
- Experience working with children with SEN (Special Educational Needs) or EAL (English as an Additional Language)
- First Aid qualification

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
