Compliance Manager

Housing Ombudsman Compliance Team Leader – Temporary 3-month contract – Essex – Start ASAP – Hybrid- £23.08 p/h PAYE – £28.75 p/h Umbrella

Hybrid, 2 days on site in Essex.

This position involves complaint resolution, identifying potential reputational risks, and collaborating with internal teams to mitigate issues. The successful candidate will provide training, advice, and support to the team, focusing on staff development and performance.

Day to day of the role:

• Support and guide team members on compliance matters.
• Drive and motivate the team to achieve their goals and objectives.
• Conduct regular performance and development reviews with team members.
• Monitor team performance for quality and productivity.
• Review team resources and capacities to ensure effective workload management.
• Act as an escalation point, liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
• Hold regular learning and training sessions to maintain high knowledge and development levels within the team.
• Provide reporting and performance information as required.
• Collaborate with other team leaders to share best practices and knowledge.
• Attend weekly management meetings to provide updates on performance and challenges.
• Identify potential risks and opportunities and report through line management.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience leading a team.
• Knowledge of the Housing Ombudsman Complaint Handling Code and determination outcomes.
• Experience in complaint handling and working in a compliance environment.
• Good understanding of housing practices and procedures.
• Strong planning and organising skills to maintain priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
