We are currently seeking a passionate and empathetic Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join their team and make a significant impact on the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Your new role
- Provide Individualised Support: Work closely with students with a variety of SEND, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Dyslexia, and Speech and Language difficulties.
- Assist in Educational Plans: Help develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
- Collaborate with Staff: Work alongside class teachers, the SENCO, and other support staff to deliver targeted interventions and support.
- Foster Inclusion: Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging social and emotional development through positive behaviour management strategies.
- Monitor Progress: Track and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
- Support Learning Activities: Assist in planning, preparing, and delivering learning activities, adjusting according to students' responses.
- Minimum Qualification: Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Experience: Previous experience working as a SEND TA in a primary or secondary school setting is essential.
- Skills: Strong understanding of SEND, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEND.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant legislation and best practices in SEND education.
