Sydenham High School is looking for a dynamic, creative and innovative Teacher of Geography to join our popular and successful Geography Department.

You will have an innovative understanding of teaching and learning and you will have high expectations of all pupils’ achievements.

Ideally, you will demonstrate considerable initiative and be prepared to innovate both in the classroom and in the field. Staff are expected to be digitally literate and are encouraged to develop their personal digital skills.

Geography at Sydenham High School

The Geography Department at Sydenham High is an innovative and successful department with several pupils opting to pursue Geography and related disciplines at university each year. Pupils are inspired to think well beyond the exam specifications and show genuine enthusiasm for their studies.

The department is well resourced and works collaboratively, sharing best practice and encouraging all staff to share their ideas and expertise. All pupils have access to a device in each lesson meaning that we can seamlessly integrate the use of GIS and other digital resources.

The department runs a range of fieldtrips each year, such as to the Lake District and Southwold, as well as making good use of more local environments in Sydenham, Stratford and Battersea.
