An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Primary Care Dental Service of University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) for a Clinic Co-ordinator.
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and dedicated individual to provide effective and efficient clinic co-ordination support for the department. The post holder will have a range of administration experience, ideally in a healthcare environment, although other administration/PA experience will be considered.
We would welcome applications from those who meet all of the essential criteria as set out in the person specification.
Please note, the successful applicant will work from an external community site located in one of our Primary Care Dental Service Departments. The post holder will be predominantly based at Riverside Health Centre in Bath BA1 2BT, but there may be an occasional requirement to cover one of our other Departments located in Yate, Southmead, Easton or Weston according to service needs.The post holder will not be based at Bristol Dental Hospital.

Main duties of the job
Working in a busy and sometimes demanding role, within a supportive team, the applicant must be a good team player. The applicant should also have good organisational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure. As the post deals with patients, relatives and healthcare professionals on the phone and face to face, applicants must have excellent communication skills and will be expected to have a courteous and efficient telephone manner.They need to have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and an ability to learn new systems.
The post-holder will play an integral role in promoting and ensuring a professional and positive working environment for patients attending a UHBW dental community department across the Bristol, Bath and Weston area.
The role is responsible for the ongoing management of waiting lists, the organisation of clinics and patient appointments (onsite and domiciliary), and daily tasks associated with the daily management of an outpatient setting and reception area.
The post-holder will work with a variety of colleagues to optimise communication, enact any changes and act as a key point of support and contact for patients and colleagues alike.

Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria- Educated to GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths
- Business and Admin level 3 NVQ or equivalent experience
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria- Extensive clerical / reception experience in a healthcare / public setting
- Experience of handling cash and banking
- Experience of dealing with the public in person, by telephone and via letter
- Experience of working in the NHS
Skills and Abilities
Essential criteria- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
