Job overview
The catering department at Midland Metropolitan University Hospital is looking to recruit a part time experienced Catering Assistant to work s at our new Midland Metropolitan University Hospital in Smethwick within retail
Applicants must have previous catering experience in hospitality retail with high standards of work, be an outgoing, hard-working and enthusiastic individual that is able to work on their own initiative.
Hours 22.5 hours per week
Shift pattern
Working relief on a Monday, Tuesday & Friday working between the hours of 7.00am - 20.30pm, Wednesday & Thursday 17.00pm - 20.30pm
Applicants are required to be flexible in their approach to hours and duties and able to work additional shifts as and when required.
Main duties of the job
To carry out a wide range of general catering duties in an efficient and effective manner to ensure that a high quality service is provided at all times. This post has a significant amount of personal contact with Staff, Patients and Members of the Public.
Duties include handling money, serving customers, basic food preparation, using a barista coffee machine, associated general/deep cleaning duties and completion of control paperwork.

Experience
Essential criteria- Previous catering experience required.
- To have experience of work in environments where a methodical and organised approach to work can be demonstrated
Qualifications
Essential criteria- NVQ 2 Customer Service (or equivalent skills/ experience).
- To be willing to undertake and achieve the level 2 Food Safety Certificate, COSHH Training and Trust Mandatory Training Courses
- Level 2 Food Safety Certificate
