Lincolnshire County Council has an exciting opportunity for a Wraparound Childcare Programme officer to join the existing wraparound programme team for a 12 months fixed term contract. This could be a secondment opportunity for an internal candidate.

The government wants to support parents to return to work more easily, the wraparound services for school aged children enables this ambition to be reached by creating childcare before and after school. With a national investment of £289m, Lincolnshire County Council is rolling out the fully funded wraparound programme and will continue to do this during 2025-26.

This has provided a unique opportunity to recruit an additional project delivery officer on a fixed term basis to join our early years and childcare team. This role will also support the early adopters breakfast programme which involves several schools in Lincolnshire to test and trial models of delivering breakfast provision for all primary-aged children.

Wraparound Childcare Programme officer

The role:

Your role will involve working collaboratively with schools, childcare providers and local communities seeking innovative and creative solutions to meet the programme aims of ensuring that all primary schools have available to their parents, sustainable wraparound services from 8am -6pm during the school term.

Your knowledge and experience in delivering quality wraparound or holiday services will be intrinsic to the projects success. This post is subject to hybrid working conditions and travel throughout the county will be essential.

About the team:

You will be joining the team at an exciting time with the expansion and growth of the childcare sector. The team is responsible for ensuring there is sufficient and sustainable childcare across the county and is a pivotal cog in the larger wheel that is the Early Years and Childcare (EYCC) team.

The Early years team is a dynamic team with diverse experience across the childcare and education sector.

Understanding of quality and sustainable wraparound childcare provision
An understanding and ability to work with and interpret data
An ability to inspire and motivate others
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Proactive attitude with the skills to self manage workload
