This exciting role is to join the Materials Management team based at University Hospital Southampton. We are a close knit team with collectively over 120 years of experience in providing a seamless and effective service to our end users. Our working hours are Monday to Friday during core hours.Our team consists of 12 motivated individuals who work both without supervision and pull together when needed to work as a team.
We are responsible for the ordering, managing, movement and putting away of consumable medical supplies. Using a PDA, you will appraise stock levels in clinical areas in order to generate orders to top up the supply of stock for each area. Stock arrives and we then move it to point of use.We are a critical factor in ensuring stock is where it needs to be for staff to treat our patients.
There is an expectation to move stock cages, some of which can be heavy, around out large hospital site so this role does involved a lot of walking. You also the key link person for the areas you look after regarding stock, so good communication skills are essential.
Previous experience of stock control is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
