Our goal is informing and driving the delivery of our enabling-strategies for "Research with Impact" and "Enterprise & Engagement", contributing to grow our excellence in research, innovation, and impact regionally, nationally, and globally.
Demands for expertise and support from the central RIS research support team are very high, and we require some specialist support to help maximise all research grants development and funding opportunities as well as for capability and capacity building.An exciting opportunity has therefore arisen to join and support our Research Development Team (RDT). Members of the team are enthusiastic, highly motivated individuals with skills and experience to play a key role in helping our researchers develop a world-class portfolio of research that has impact nationally and globally.
The post holder will:
- Continuously map and scope the University's research strengths for UK and International research funding opportunities and research in developing countries to inform Schools' funding decision making.
- Horizon-scan and foresight new funding streams and identify and promote priority opportunities to increase the engagement with International, interdisciplinary and impact-focused research funding opportunities.
- Identify and engage with academic colleagues, provide comprehensive advice and support on relevant funding opportunities including grants and fellowships.
- Plan and coordinate multi-disciplinary and collaborative funding proposals, including to UKRI and other international funders.
- Administer the coordination of managed calls such as the Future Leaders Fellowships, providing direct support and guidance to academic colleagues throughout the application process.
- Work closely with the Research Development Coordinator and the Trusted Research Manager to ensure the University complies with established and emerging governance policies and regulatory requirements to ensure appropriate standards for due diligence and trusted research.
- Facilitate events and workshops around opportunities to achieve collaboration across interdisciplinary teams and follow up by coordinating teams in response to funding opportunities.
