Warmley Park School currently have an exciting opportunity for a Lead family support worker.Working Hours: 25-30 hours per week to be discussed at interviewMonday to Friday, Term Time + 3 weeks (as directed by the Headteacher)Permanent (Subject to successful 6 month probation review)We are a South Gloucestershire maintained special school and college for pupils aged 2-19 with Education, Health, and Care Plans.
Typically our pupils have severe learning difficulties but that includes a range of associated needs including physical, sensory impairment, social communication, and developmental delayAs the Lead Family Support Worker at Warmley Park School, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our children and families.

This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with community organisations, families, and professionals, promoting engagement and delivering targeted activities to support parents, carers, and their families. You will be responsible for building strong partnerships and fostering positive working relationships with external agencies.With a proven track record of leading, facilitating, and evaluating initiatives for parents and families in a school or community setting, you will cultivate and maintain robust relationships with families, community members, and partner organisations.

Acting as the key liaison between families and the school, you will ensure clear and effective communication, demonstrating enthusiasm and commitment to supporting our Warmley Park families.In your role, you will support the Headteacher as a Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring the welfare of children and young people is always prioritised.
You will promote a shared understanding of safeguarding practices across the school, ensuring consistency and clarity in safeguarding children and young people at Warmley Park.As a proactive community advocate, you will guide families toward available support and services, providing timely intervention and advice.
Additionally, you will lead the school's Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme during school holidays, offering dedicated support to families during these periods. You will also be responsible for attending Child in Need (CIN) meetings, arranging and facilitating Early Help Assessment Plans (EHAP), and chairing Stage 1 attendance meetings.

Your organisational skills and ability to plan effectively will be critical to the success of the role.Job requirementsLevel 3 qualification, such as an A-Level, NVQ Level 3, or equivalentExcellent communication skills, written and verbal.Works well as part of a team to reach agreed targets and outcomes for children/young people.

Has strong problem solving and analytical abilities and makes good judgements.
Able to balance competing priorities, work on own initiative and to tight deadlines.

Proven ability to write reports, summarise clearly and concisely and articulate concepts and proposals.Enthusiasm for working in a challenging educational environment.A good communicator who can effectively build relationships with colleagues, pupils, parents and other third parties.

A high level of self-awareness and an aptitude for conflict resolution and for dealing with sensitive issues with integrity.
The confidence and good judgement to manage situations relating to the poor conduct/behaviour of others towards a child.Maintains confidentiality and discretion at all times.
