Job overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Business Unit Accountant to join our Financial Management team here at University Hospital of Derby and Burton. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to work in a fast moving Management Accounts Team.

You will play a key role part of the team responsible for the preparation of management accounting information to the Trust.

We are looking for a highly motivated, hardworking, and focused individual who is able to provide accurate financial and analytical support within the team and to budget holders.

Main duties of the job

The job role is wide and varied and hence you must be able to manage competing demands for your time. Flexibility and adaptability are key to this role, as is a desire to learn and develop.

Your main responsibilities will be to support the production of accurate and timely monthly statements, including prepayments, invoicing and journals. Supporting the Business Unit Accountants in investigating and explaining financial variances from budgets.

Assisting in the budget setting process and the maintenance of supporting information for this.
