Cover Teacher/Cover Supervisor – Secondary SEMH School (Basingstoke)
Are you a flexible and compassionate educator looking to make a positive impact in the lives of young people? We are seeking a Cover Teacher/Cover Supervisor to work in a small SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Basingstoke.This unique opportunity will allow you to support students with additional needs in a nurturing, structured environment, where no more than 8 students are in each class, supported by rotating Teaching Assistants.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide cover in the absence of the usual teacher with pre-set classwork
- Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment while maintaining structure
- Record and report student behaviour, rewards, and progress in line with school policy
- Support the day-to-day running of the school, helping ensure a positive learning environment
- Collaborate with staff to support pupils in working towards key outcomes, including passing GCSE English and Maths, alongside other GCSEs and vocational courses offered at the school
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience working in a secondary school environment, preferably with SEMH or SEN students
- Flexibility and adaptability to cover various subjects and work with a range of pupils
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage behaviour effectively
- A positive attitude and commitment to supporting vulnerable young people
- Can either be a Teacher with QTS or an experienced Cover Supervisor
- Work in a small, close-knit school where you can make a real difference
- Gain experience working with a specialized SEMH environment with strong support from TAs
- Potential to secure a permanent role if you are the right fit for the school
