Are you enthusiastic and motivated? Pebble Lodge are looking for a Mental Health Support Worker to join their team.

Pebble Lodge is a purpose built 10 bed general adolescent unit for young people aged between 13 and 18 years, who are experiencing acute and severe mental health problems. They also provide an education and day programme service for these young people.

As a Mental Health Support Worker you will carry out assigned tasks which have been identified by the trained nursing staff in relation to young people’s needs, assist in organised activities for young and help to create a safe atmosphere and provide emotional support as and when necessary for the young people in the unit and to report any relevant information.
You will help to keep the building tidy, assisting in setting of tables and serving meals, checking laundry items and any tasks which help with the smooth running of the ward/unit and assisting the nurses in their delivery of care to the patients.

This involves being a part of the Multi-disciplinary team meetings and risk management meetings.

This is a full time however part time hours would be considered. You will be required to work a range of flexible shifts across the week.Weekends/nights at enhanced pay.

You will have the opportunity to attend training courses and participate in personal development training as identified by the line manager.

You will report any complaints by young people, families and carers to the trained staff on duty.

Make accurate records of patient observations, including data entry to the RiO patient records computer system.

Other duties appropriate to the role which may be requested from time to time by the nurse in charge.

This role requires you to be a driver, the ward have a unit car which is used to transport young people to their homes/placements and to activities or medical appointments. You will be given a driving course on this to ensure you are familiar with the car.

Be aware of and comply with relevant Trust policies and procedures at all times.
