About the role
Connex Education is partnering with a SEND school in Vale of Glamorgan to recruit an experienced Learning Support Assistant. While previous experience in special needs is not required, a solid understanding of the needs of learners with ALN (Additional Learning Needs) and/or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges would be beneficial.
Candidates with experience in mainstream education or those who have worked as care or support workers would be a good fit for this role.

The school supports students with a variety of additional learning needs, including ADHD, ASD, PMLD, and SEMH. Assignment Details
As a Learning Support Assistant in a SEN school, we are looking for individuals who are adaptable and eager to contribute to a range of curriculum activities and ideas. The ideal candidate will be able to support pupils in engaging with and enjoying life-affirming experiences.

Person Specification
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Care/Support Worker
  • Must be 19 or over.
  • Must have UK school-based experience.
  • Strong knowledge of learners with ALN.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must hold a Child and Adult DBS on update service or willing to apply for one.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Flexibility.
  • Good organization and multitasking abilities
