About the client

The Management Recruitment Group is seeking an Interim Head of Health and Safety for a large public sector organisation in Greater Manchester.

• Lead on this organisations health and safety strategy
• Working within this organisations estates team you will play a pivotal role in leading on all aspects of corporate health and safety as well as technical health and safety including facilities, maintenance, minor and major works and construction projects
• Provide leadership for specialist areas of health and safety including M&E and engineering
• Ensure this organisation is operating in accordance with health and safety legislation
• Provide advice to section heads on all aspects of health and safety
• Operational responsibility for H&S Manager’s, H&S Officer’s and fire safety
• Ensure H&S and fire risk assessments are up to date and in alignment with statutory and regulatory requirements
• Ensure all aspects of H&S across this organisation meets regulatory requirements

• CMIOSH or equivalent
• Proven experience operating at Head of Service level
• Public sector or client-side experience (i.e. NHS, education, local gov, central government, consultancy)
• Able to start at short notice
• Willing to travel to site as required
• Proven experience in a similar role
• Proven experience matching this positions accountabilities
