ABOUT US

We are a growing management systems consultancy supporting organisations across manufacturing, packaging, engineering and professional services sectors. We help clients achieve and maintain certification to standards including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and BRCGS Packaging Materials.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Junior Management Systems Consultant typical activities will include:

  • Design and implementation of management system documentation
  • Conducting internal audits
  • Assessing compliance against ISO and BRCGS requirements
  • Facilitating management reviews
  • Supporting clients during external certification audits
  • Providing practical compliance advice
  • Building and maintaining client relationships
  • Preparing audit reports and improvement plans

This role is heavily involved and hands-on with our clients' businesses and their processes, and involves working consultatively with clients on their premises, normally for between 6 and 8 hours per day. We offer all levels of services from one-off one-day jobs to projects requiring several days a month over a longer term.

This role would be ideal for someone who is adept at managing their own time and can manage a great deal of autonomy, although initially you will work closely with an experienced consultant who will provide mentoring, guidance and technical support as you develop within the role.

We are really looking for someone who has the right attitude and a willingness to learn. We can train the rest! This is a great opportunity to gain exposure to multiple businesses across various industries, to develop as a Lead Auditor or Management Consultant, and to be mentored and coached by experienced consultants.

This could be a great first step on a career in management systems consultancy and/or Lead Auditing.

DESIRABLES

We would be happy to train the right candidate, but any of the following would be beneficial:

  • Lead Auditor training in one or more ISO or BRCGS standard
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent
  • Experience working with ISO and/or BRCGS standards
  • Experience maintaining integrated management systems
  • Manufacturing experience, or exposure to similar environments

This would be a diverse role working with small-to-medium sized organisations in a range of industries, although we do have a large number of clients in the packaging manufacturing industry. Experience of such environments, or a willingness to learn quickly, is desirable.

ESSENTIAL
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong report-writing and administrative skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel (basic functions) and PowerPoint
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Willingness to travel throughout the UK and stay overnight when required
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities

Working within different organisations, different cultures and dealing with people at all levels of an organisation requires applicants to be adaptable, agile and diplomatic, able to build rapport and able to improvise where necessary.

This is a home-based role with regular travel to client sites across the UK, requiring occasional overnight stays. Travel requirements vary depending on client demand.

WHAT WE OFFER
  • Competitive salary dependent on experience. Associate day rates negotiable.
  • Full training and mentoring for the right candidate
  • Exposure to a wide variety of industries and organisations
  • Flexible employment or associate arrangements
  • Mileage and travel expenses paid
  • Opportunity to develop auditor qualifications and consultancy skills
  • A varied and autonomous role with significant client interaction

RECRUITMENT

We are open to discussing either employed or associate/subcontract/freelance arrangements.

Initially we could offer a subcontractor 1-2 days work a week, or part time hours for an employee. The demands of this role are likely to increase fairly quickly, so the successful candidate would be willing to take on more work over time.

Following the initial application we will be looking to conduct interviews by Microsoft Teams in the first instance.
